Just like the book instructed Balance Exercises for Seniors: Prevent Falls, Improve Stability and Posture with Simple Home Workouts (Health & Fitness) PDF ePUB Download telecharger As one having balancing difficulties I bought this book to find a few exercises to attack my problems myself. There are very many exercises in it, but I have two difficulties with it. The lessor one is that every paragraph has encouraging advice added to its content; and I personally don’t need that much; I’m already sold. The greater one is that the range of exercises is so broad that I don’t know which to adapt, and the book has inspired me to seek out a physical therapist and get her or his diagnosis and specific recommendations for exercises that work for her or him, and let her or him coach me and encourage me more sensitively. One thing that has helped me immediately: I am adopting better posture, and already walking better. PDF Balance Exercises for Seniors: Prevent Falls, Improve Stability and Posture with Simple Home Workouts (Health & Fitness) source Great book ePUB Balance Exercises for Seniors: Prevent Falls, Improve Stability and Posture with Simple Home Workouts (Health & Fitness) scarica online gratuitamente I would have given this 5 stars if it had had more pictures. Happy with this purchase. (PDF) Downloads Balance Exercises for Seniors: Prevent Falls, Improve Stability and Posture with Simple Home Workouts (Health & Fitness) As someone approaching seniorhood with some physical limitations, I'm always curious about exercise books for seniors when I see them at book review sites. Most disappoint me at least in some ways because they don't seem to be truly geared for people whose bodies are experiencing natural changes due to the passage of time. This book certainly has its pluses and minuses. I appreciated that the author provided plenty of well-rendered illustrations that match the exercise instructions, and the descriptions and instructions for each exercise are more involved than I typically see in exercise books. These are the book's strongest aspects. The book does have flaws, however. The book is divided into exercise sections like ones you do sitting, standing, lying, and walking as well as exercises specifically for the core and the vestibular system, which is what helps regulate balance. As you might imagine, some of these categories overlap. For instance, the core exercises include ones where you lie down and stand. Within the chapters, not all exercises—even though theoretically done in the same position--flow easily from one to the next. Because of the seeming randomness of the exercises, even within chapters based on the same position, I was hoping for solid workout plans, with specific exercises given that would make sense to do in a position one after the other. my hopes were dashed when I finally got to that chapter, as the “workouts” given for each day only have two or three exercises! I wish the author would have provided longer workouts as well as short ones. After all, if you're going to break out time to exercise, you might as well do enough so that you're at least exercising for five or ten minutes, not just one or two!The book contains some exercises that I think would be too difficult for most seniors. For instance, in the core section, the author provides instructions for both modified and full planks. It's hard to imagine your average grandma getting down on the floor and doing full planks! Some people, like me, can't even get down on the floor at all, and I certainly couldn't imagine doing a modified or regular plank! In addition, some exercises would certainly be too difficult for anyone that actually has vestibular or balance issues to do. I know, because this is one of my physical limitations. It would have been nice to have workouts specifically geared for those who already have balance challenges as well as those who are trying to prevent them. One later chapter specifically provides instructions for what the author considers to be more advanced exercises. It would have been nice if all the harder exercises were in this section. In the workout chapter, the author does have workout plans using the more advanced exercises. Finally, though it is a minor quibble, I don't like how the author constantly refers to “seniors.” I've read books that target specific populations but don't use a single same word repetitively. I wish the book was more conversational, not talking to seniors in general, but to you, the reader. If you understand the book's limitations, however, as well as your own, many of the exercises in this book would be helpful for seniors trying to improve their balance.I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
